As a Database Manager within PNC's Data Platform Services organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA. The Database Manager must be proficient in Oracle and Golden Gate.

Job Profile


  • Manages and plans the design, development, maintenance, safety and integrity of databases.
  • Manages and maintains data in all production and non-production databases and replication servers.
  • Conducts audits of database products and data architecture artifacts for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.
  • Initiates preventative and corrective action to ensure all database servers and database designs meet or exceed processing requirements for performance and reliability.
  • Analyzes the organization's database needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage.

  • Knowledge of and the ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business.

IT ENVIRONMENT - Extensive Experience

  • Knowledge of an organization's IT purposes, activities and standards; ability to create an effective IT environment for business operations.

Database Backup and Migration - Extensive Experience

  • Knowledge of and the ability to store and transfer an organization's data effectively, in order to meet business needs.



Required Education and Experience


Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
